Skinner scores off an unreal faceoff win and pass by Jack Eichel ( vs MTL. 11.08.18. )
Eichel and Skinner talk about the play in this Athletic article by Joe Yerdon:
“Eichs told me he was going to do that,” Skinner said. “It’s pretty tough to pull off, it’s not an easy play, it’s a pretty high-skill play so he made a great play there.”
That’s putting it mildly.
Danault was looking to tie up the faceoff and stop Eichel from controlling the puck and allow time for Tatar and Petry to jump in and fish the puck out. Instead, Eichel poked the puck between Danault’s legs and got around him while he was whiffing on the tie-up.
“I’ve done it a few times,” Eichel said. “It’s tough, but I mean, I think that one was pretty clean…”
